Islavskoye

The last weeks of spring of 2013 were rainy. But spending time at home isn’t a deal, of course. And we decided to visit one of the oldest villages of Podmoskovye. It is Islavskoye. The village stays on the high bank of river between Odintsovo and Zvenigorod. The main attraction of the village is an abandoned estate.

The most interesting places in Islavskoye are located near its historical center, on the bank of Moscow river. There stays a church which surrounded by centuries-old limes. A wooden church stayed here in yet in the begin of 19 century. Unfortunately it wasn’t saved. Spasskaya church was built in 1799 in classic style. At this time the owner of the estate was, one of the most richest people of those time, general Ivan Arkharov. He was very nice landlord, but very strict general.

Then we went to remains of estate’s house. By opinion of famous explorer of estated of Podmoskovye Mrs Natalya Bondareva the house was built in second half of 19 century. The estate owners at this time was a grand-child of Arkharov and later the court advisor Loris-Melikov.

The house survived Revolution and WWII. In 1970 there was a children sanatorium. But it couldn’t survive the fire in 1998 year. Money and will to reconstruct it hasn’t been found.

There is a village club near the estate and memorial to soldiers died in Great Patriotic War. But we as usual was interested by child’s playground.
